I have no idea where this started from but over the last few years I developed this pet peeve where I absolutely hate when people text a “thumbs up” emoji in response to something. The longer the text I send the worse getting that thumbs up in return feels! It’s so ridiculous because obviously the person responding is just saying “sounds good” or acknowledging that they got the text and sometimes there is literally nothing that needs to be said in return. It doesn’t matter how many times I tell myself that, I see the thumbs up emoji…or more recently the thumbs up reaction…to a text and I instantly feel like the other person is being sarcastic! HAHA!

For the record, ever since this weird pet peeve started the only reactions I will send to texts aside from a legitimate reply are the “heart”or “laughing” reactions…I still don’t understand what “!!!” is supposed to be used for…but you can bet if I send you a “thumbs up” sarcasm is implied!
